Essential Job Summary

The Project Manager is the Company’s representative assigned to the absolute responsibility and authority for Project Performance on site and in the office. The Project Manager leads a service-focused team and completes a project safely, within budget, on schedule, and with unyielding excellence. This person must outplan the status quo by conceptualizing and developing an effective plan on exactly how they are going to construct and execute the project.

Primary Duties

  • Exemplifies the Company’s uncompromising culture, vision, and anti-complacency values in daily work.
  • Accountable for timely completion and quality installation.
  • Provides sound judgement and decisive problem-solving skills as jobsite issues arise.
  • Responsible for project startup, project performance, and project closeout for multiple projects ranging from $250,000 to $35,000,000.
  • Prepares construction reports as needed to transparently communicate to the Owner and Gliden Team.
  • Prepares Subcontracts and rigorously reviews scope to ensure proper buyout is completed.
  • Reviews Project Logs, RFI Logs, Submittal Logs, and other project documentation created and procured in conjunction with Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Reviews contract documents, building codes, and specifications to determine the precise procedure of work.
  • Scheduling for Projects – Leads the initial project plan and initial schedule in coordination with the project Lead Superintendent.
  • Completes schedule reviews with on-site progress.
  • Completes reviews of 3-Week Look Aheads with on-site progress.
  • Manages all project costing, pay applications, and job performance.
  • Leads all Owner Direct communications, including hosting and direction of the project OAC Meeting.
  • Forward-thinking and planning to meet the special requirements of the Customer to ensure satisfactory relations are always maintained.
  • Maintains constant, close communication with the Senior Project Manager to discuss the project budget, schedule, and upcoming challenges.
  • Communicates professionally, clearly, often, and in an effective manner.
  • Timely in all aspects of the project, including strict personal time management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Construction Science or a related field, OR 6 years of Cumulative Commercial Construction Experience, with 2 of those years as a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager.
  • Experience in K-12, Higher Ed., and Medical projects is highly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Proficiency with SAGE is preferred but not required.
